Nathan was one of the strongest young men I have ever had the privilege of meeting. As a close friend if my brother's, I saw a lot of Nathan throughout his high school career, but it wasn't until I had the honor of interviewing him during his Senior year that I was truly blessed to get to know him fully. As he explained his trials and his triumphs to me, his gift for constant positivity stood out to me. It is easy to become pessimistic through circumstances such as Nathan's, and yet he remained optimistic through it, remembering to take everything one day at a time. We can all learn from a role model like him, who suffered so greatly, and yet was so peaceful and positive. His strength through his challenges remains overwhelming. I will always remember Nathan's generous smiles, his eager hello's, and his incredible spirit that was never crushed, even through his battle. Nathan's inspiring legacy lives on in our hearts and minds. An amazing young man such as he will never be forgotten.
